we’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo…
21 July 2009
for my 25th birthday celebration, Ju took me to the zoo where we were instantaneously transformed into little kids…
take 1: alamak, fail…
take 2: much better, though still blurry

lunch @ ah meng kopi!
nonya curry chicken & bread, laksa & toast bread with peanut butter & jam – delicious!
posing with the parrots

monkey with an extremely human-looking face

even the white tiger knows how to sit in the pool and get a tan…
noisy bunch of flamingoes gawking away

so many animals were sleeping…

was stunned by this orang utan who suddenly came from nowhere and sprawled itself out on the floor right before my eyes

Ju got himself a slimy, fishy kiss from the seal. euwww…

exorbitantly-priced popcorn *gasp*
even though my camera battery ran out very quickly, i discovered a bird shit stain that had already dried up on my top, and the rain came pouring while we were on the boat ride, i had a great time nevertheless.
thank you dear for your awesome company and for making my day! *muaks*

at woodlands bus interchange waiting for a bus to JB for a shopping trip with my favourite bunch of colleagues
JB’s kfc was much more finger-lickin’ good than SG’s!

15 July 2009
too lazy to load up my pictures from my 25th birthday celebration/s, so you’ll just have to exercise every ounce of patience once again.
to be honest, i wasn’t in a birthday celebration mood this year as i always have been. it’s like…i just didn’t know what to expect from birthdays when one gets older. it seems like as we mature with age, many things get strewn into our lives and make what used to be simple, complicated. but occasions like birthdays gradually become a simpler and simpler affair, because at the end of the day, all we want, is but a moment of peace away from the humdrum of the daily complications.
perhaps there’s a bit of irony in the title of this post and the tone that i’m setting here – i probably come across sounding quite jaded upon touching the mid-quarter point of my life; or either i’m just tired from working post-birthday for the entire day.
just want to thank everyone of you who kept my mobile phone beeping away with all your birthday greetings and flooded my facebook with sweet messages. i was really touched.
alright, shall blog again when i get hold of the pictures from yesterday’s birthday lunch with my best friends.
just jap
2 July 2009
had an overdose of japanese food last week – thrice to be exact…
Ju & i finally tried the jap restaurant, shokudo, at heeren basement – it’s like marche’s format, just that it serves jap food…
yummy delicious skewers, although they are super high in cholesterol (sounding almost like a health-conscious freak at 25 y.o.)
Ju’s mushroom omelette
Ju’s rosti & sausage (absolutely love the touch of sour cream)
salmon sashimi! my favourite.
chawanmushi
grape jelly drink – why didn’t they come out with this earlier?
customary pose with all our food…

brought Ju’s canadian cuzzie, Josh, out for drinks last friday after dinner at sushi tei:
round 1 of drinks at one-twenty-six, big splash
round 2 of drinks at muddy murphy’s, with another of Ju’s cousin and his gf joining us (not in picture)…all the beer’s gonna get me fat!
