last weekend’s escapade

16 September 2008

after much procrastinating and random testing of make-up with an extremely patient ning last friday night, i finally bought my prized collection of bobbi brown make-up! mass purchasing of make-up is a rarity for me, since i don’t exactly buy more than one item of make-up very often at a go…

stash includes:

  1. black ink long-wear gel eyeliner with brush (supposedly renowned for not smudging easily and giving panda eyes as compared to kohl pencils);
  2. blushed rose pot rouge for lips and cheeks; and
  3. buff glitter lip gloss (totally love the natural flushed look that the matching blusher & lip gloss creates).

my above purchase also came with 6 much needed make-up lessons by the good people of bobbi brown, given the fact that no one has ever taught me that i had to smile when i apply blusher onto the apples of my cheeks! horror of horrors!

Ju & i caught bangkok dangerous on friday night, which is a movie to absolutely catch in a cinema. watching it on a dvd will not do it justice! possibly one of the best movies i’ve caught so far, next to the dark knight. the way nicholas cage pulled off his character as a cold-blooded assassin was so convincing, i sat through the movie totally absorbed throughout (my attention span tends to drift beyond the first hour usually). and the parts where a dumb-and-deaf thai actress came into his life and quietly injected a gradual dose of humanity into him, causing a softer side of him to evolve, made his character more multi-layered and a lot more believeable (powerful scenes between the both of them). filming the movie in thailand (with largely thai actors and actresses making up the rest of the cast) made it even more intriguing to watch.

saturday evening was spent with jane catching jo performing in a band concert which was organised by centre for new life at acs barker. loved their rendition of armenian dances part 1, which brought back many memories of my band girl days with jane & jo back in tkgs…

me & jo! (kidnapped her clarinet to pose for old times’ sake…hehe…can hardly blow a note on it now…)

the 3js - 11 solid years of friendship and counting…

ended my saturday chillin’ at villa bali with Ju, jane, and her friend, alan, just yakking away…
