ASUS Eee PC 4G-X
31 August 2008
hee…assignment’s finally done and emailed to my prof last night! *big sigh of relief* i shall allow myself a little enjoyment today at the Comex 2008 fair, where i plan to look for this:
the asus eee pc 4g-x (in pink!)
you won’t believe it, the little heaven-sent 7″ darling is only 0.92kg, a far cry from my pink sony VAIO which is a heavy 2.5kg (it’s like you’re carrying a new-born baby) and has caused me many days of aching arms lugging it around with my heavy textbooks in school (i can’t imagine how mums lug their 4-5kg infants in their arms the whole day and not complain). this must be god’s gift to poor students who have a hell lot of things to bring to school with them everyday!
am so tempted to get this so that i can carry a laptop around with a lot more ease. but that will mean another $800 less in my bank account. it’s not very expensive for a laptop but i guess when you haven’t got lotsa income flowing in…aye.
heck it, shall go check it out first!
woohoo, here i come!
lazy friday
29 August 2008
i finally had the luxury to get a good sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep last night. just got so sleepy after finishing dinner which we dabao-ed back to Ju’s place from newton circus and set 3 alarm clocks at midnight to wake up and get some readings done, but i just couldn’t get up. by the time i jolted awake, it was 4am. drove back home with my eyes half-closed and went for my torts tutorial this morning totally unprepared. looked like a total goon when my prof picked on me to answer a seemingly simple question. still in zonkland, oops.
after i got back from class, surfed a new blog which i found via Soon Lee’s blog - http://lepetitpea.blogspot.com/. was a great read tho’ it was just everyday run-of-the-mill experiences of a chinese singaporean girl staying with her ang moh bf in a rented apartment at portsdown road (i think). i should really check out the area sometime, heard it’s a nice and quiet hang out with many old colonial bungalows. her blog was filled with pics of her new clothes, shoes, handmade stuff, places she and the bf explored and great-looking dishes which she whipped up. she really made me miss my cookin’ days in perth. and i loved the way she wrote, simple and uninhibited and she didn’t need to splash heavily photoshopped pictures of herself clubbing every other night like other popular singaporean bloggers to convince how happening her life was. her entries seemed relatively simple and happy.
reading blogs and bloggin’ seems to be the only hobby i allow myself time to wind down nowadays. sigh. i wanna’ meet ning and jo to go out, shop, yak and eat soon. so deprived.
also munched on a few pieces of bak gua (my all-time favourite!) and cup walker’s lemon red bubble tea. so far that’s the best bubble tea i’ve ever tried – the pearls are springy enough and they use real lemons (which was a great delight to me!), and not the usual syrup (artificial and sickeningly sweet). i think i’m weird. i hate my drinks with ice cubes, yes, not even a single cube. i hate how it dilutes the taste of any drink. and i will not hesitate to get my drinks re-made to my expectation. how demanding.
alright, after all the procrastination over the entire week, it’s time to start on my dreaded Legal Analysis, Writing & Research assignment that’s due tomorrow. gotta’ pia…

2 years, 9 months and still going strong…(taken during last year’s visit back to our alma mater together)
perth was a place where many beautiful memories and dreams began for the both of us.
i will always, always miss those days but i know there will be better ones ahead just because you are with me in my life.
another happy anniversary to us, dear.
burnt out
27 August 2008
am totally exhausted. and it’s barely the 3rd week of school.
another heavy assignment due this saturday. 4 brain-cracking, nerve-wrecking cases to review for that. and another lengthy and complex Singapore Legal System tutorial with those political and philosophical think-out-of-the-box questions to prepare for by tomorrow.
have not been resting well and thus nothing really goes in during lectures, tutorials and in my own time reading. plus i have to work after classes 2-3x a week. i’m literally walking around like a zombie every day and the weather hasn’t been really kind either. it keeps raining, and the dancing raindrops keep taunting me to just forget about everything that i need to beat the clock to complete and just hit the pillows and crash into bed. and i’ve been driving to and fro school in a trance. many a times when my car comes to a halt in the midst of the peak hour morning traffic, i just feel like resting my head on the steering wheel and fall into a deep sleep. i can’t tell you how much i really treasure a restful night’s sleep, which is few and far in between.
last night, i came down with a very bad bout of diarrhoea (think it was food poisoning) and i was very afraid that i wouldn’t be able to attend classes and get to work today. i can’t afford to fall sick…not at this juncture. there’s too much to lose.
just another one of my low days where nothing seems to go right…sigh…Lord, where are You?

found another powerful poster advocating women’s rights while randomly surfing the net (from women’s aid in UK):

i can’t stress enough that it’s so important to never let a man hit you and allow him to think that he can get away with it. yes, all bfs had been informed in advance. i will not hesitate to use the law on any of them should they lay a finger on me anywhere, anytime.
and a note to all you wife and women-beaters out there: i will make it my life-long ambition to personally prosecute you and put you in jail where you belong. and i pray that you stay in your 4×6 ft cell long enough to get a taste of your own medicine. men like you have no balls.
